Laurenz von Glahn
Regenerative Farmer, Gut & Bösel (DE)
Laurenz von Glahn is a regenerative farmer at Gut & Bösel, where he manages soil and plant health across organic arable systems integrated with cattle and agroforestry. As the farm’s lead for soil and plant health, he works with composts, ferments, bio-fertilisers and foliar nutrition to enhance crop quality and productivity.
Entirely self-taught, Laurenz has travelled widely — including Australia, Brazil, Canada and across Europe — to learn directly from innovative farmers and land stewards. With a strong passion for syntropic agroforestry and living soils, he is dedicated to advancing farming systems that restore soil health while producing nutritious food.
At Gut & Bösel, Laurenz holds the official role of “Microorganism and Nutrient Cycle Manager.” He is recognised as the farm’s in-house expert on composting and microbial nutrient cycling — having developed the compost programme entirely on his own and managing what the team calls “our smallest team members – the microorganisms.” His work is also featured in collaborative research on soil conditioners and nutrient cycles, and he contributes to broader interdisciplinary farm and research initiatives.
