Join regenerative agriculture experts Joel Williams, Grant Sims, and Tom Robinson for a comprehensive, hands-on masterclass
Exclusive Masterclass
This masterclass offers both foundational knowledge and advanced techniques, blending science and practical applications to empower participants with the skills to manage and optimize regenerative farming systems.
!Please note that this masterclass is a separate event from Northern Roots Forum. While both aim to promote knowledge sharing and innovation in agriculture, the masterclass offers a more focused and hands-on learning experience specifically dedicated to regenerative agriculture practices.
This workshop’s small size ensures personalized attention and collaborative learning, leading to valuable, long-term benefits for participants. However, this personalized approach results in higher per-person costs.
This immersive workshop is designed for farmers, agronomists, and practitioners looking to deepen their knowledge of soil and plant health, crop management, and sustainable practices for building resilient farm systems.
Topics Covered:
- Plant Nutrition & Foliar Feeding. Dive into effective strategies for maximizing plant nutrition through targeted foliar feeding. Learn about nitrogen management, including the role of foliar urea. Explore best practices in trace element optimization through performing plant sap and tissue analyses to fine-tune nutritional inputs. Attendees will also get hands-on insight on DIY chelation methods and custom foliar mix recipes for healthier, more robust plants.
- Seed Treatments & Biofertilizers. Gain insights on transitioning from conventional seed treatments to biological alternatives. Discover the power of compost extracts and fermented biofertilizers in priming seeds for growth and resilience. The workshop will include guidance on mixing, coating, and applying biofertilizers to seeds, as well as biofertilizers foliar applications with plant nutrition to support growth from the start.
- Covers, Companions & Intercrops. This session focuses on designing diverse cover crop “cocktails” and exploring the potential of cover and companion crops in regenerative systems. Learn how to optimize grazing cover crops in mixed farming setups, and the benefits and challenges of polycropping through diverse intercrop combinations. Participants will also delve into epigenetics, tracing impacts from seed to seedling for sustainable, long-term crop performance.
- Livestock Integration. Explore innovative approaches to integrating livestock in cropping systems. Discover the benefits of mobile and portable livestock setups, as well as techniques like bale and swath grazing, to enhance soil health and create diversified farm ecosystems. This session provides insights into how livestock integration can reduce risks, build organic matter, and improve overall farm resilience.
- Plant Health & Input Reductions. Learn how to leverage biological and nutritional strategies to improve plant resilience against pests and diseases. This segment will cover biostimulants and the strategic use of nutrients with pesticides. Participants will also get insights to monitor and manage pests effectively, fostering a balanced ecosystem with beneficial organisms. The session will conclude by reinforcing soil health as the keystone of sustainable plant health and productivity.
