Phillippe Birker
entrepreneur
Philippe is dedicated to supporting regenerative farmers across Europe through his organization, Climate Farmers. Since 2019, he has been helping farmers transition to regenerative agriculture by providing a free farmer-to-farmer learning community, tailored transition knowledge, and financial support through ecosystem service payments. Philippe is passionate about redefining business practices, focusing on regenerative culture and leadership.
Through their organization Climate Farmers, Philippe and his partner, Ivo Degn, currently support around 700 farmers in 16 European countries, assisting them in unlocking the potential of their soils. They offer a supportive network, context-specific knowledge, and financial incentives in the form of carbon and biodiversity credits. Their goal is to make regenerative agriculture the standard practice in Europe within five years.
Beyond his work with farmers, Philippe is revitalizing an abandoned village in Portugal’s Serra da Lousa mountain range. He envisions turning it into a vibrant community that embodies the principles of regeneration.
“When regenerative agriculture is no longer called regenerative agriculture, but simply agriculture, we will have done our work well,” Philippe says, highlighting his commitment to transforming agricultural practices for a sustainable future.
